PRIVACY POLICY

Last Updated: July 11, 2026 • Revision: v2.0.0

01Core Philosophy

AniStation is built around a single, foundational principle: your data belongs strictly to you. We believe that watching anime should not come at the cost of your digital privacy. The application is built to function as a lightweight, locally executed client that does not track your online habits or maintain centralized profiles.

02No Account Registration

Currently, AniStation does not support or require user registration, log-ins, or profile creation. You can download the application, install it on your Android device, and start using it immediately. Because there are no user accounts, we do not collect, process, or store your email address, passwords, names, or any other identifying credentials.

03On-Device Data Storage

All information relating to your use of the application is saved locally on your physical device. This includes:

  • Your favorites and watchlists ("My List").
  • Your playback progress markers and watch history ("Continue Watching").
  • Custom player settings, layouts, and system configurations.

None of this information is transmitted to AniStation servers or stored remotely. If you delete the application or clear its cache from your Android settings, this data will be permanently removed unless you have manually generated and exported a backup file.

04The AniStation API & Media Indexing

To provide a unified and optimized viewing experience, we route search requests and metadata lookups through our custom AniStation API. It is important to understand the role of this API:

What the AniStation API does: It acts as an aggregator. When you search for a title, the API queries reputable public third-party services (such as AniList or MyAnimeList) for catalog metadata (posters, descriptions, ratings) and pulls streaming options from third-party providers and scrapers. It then merges this information and sends a single, compiled feed back to your app.

What the AniStation API DOES NOT do: The AniStation API never hosts or stores any media files (videos, streams) on its servers. It does not index torrents or maintain copyrighted video links on centralized servers. All media is streamed directly from third-party providers to your device player. The API only serves metadata formatting and stream aggregation.

05Third-Party Services & Links

The application lets you interact with external services:

  • Anime List Import & Export: When using the import feature, the application fetches public data using only the AniList username you provide. No account passwords, authentication tokens, or private credentials are ever requested, processed, or stored. For data backups or exports, the application generates a standard, MAL-compatible XML file entirely locally on your device, which you can manually upload to external platforms like AniList or MyAnimeList (MAL).
  • Third-Party Scrapers: The video feeds shown in the player are sourced from public scraper engines. When you request a stream, your device establishes a connection to these third-party domains. We do not control their privacy policies, and they may log standard client metadata (like IP address and User Agent) during streaming.

06OTA Updates

To ensure scraper definitions and stream links remain functional, the application periodically checks our public release distribution endpoints to check for OTA updates. During this update check, the application reports its current version and package name to verify if a new update is available. No user-identifying metadata or watch histories are tracked during this process.

07Support & Donations

AniStation is ad-free and does not monetize user interactions. Donations made via external providers (Cryptocurrencies) are processed entirely outside of the application. We do not link donation receipts to in-app tracking profiles, ensuring that your financial support remains separated from your viewing activity.

08Changes to This Policy

We may revise this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in how the AniStation API handles data parsing or integrations. We recommend reviewing this page periodically to stay informed about our data handling practices.

If you have questions about this privacy statement or local data handling, feel free to reach out to the developer through their official GitHub profile, where you can find direct contact options and social links.
